The scars that go deeper than bruises

I was going to post a blog about another young woman who came today, who showed profound courage and bravery in coming in, but I'm concerned that however anonymous I make it, it might jeopardise the safety of the individual involved. 
Instead I'll just tell you a few horrific truths about Domestic violence.





According to Women's Aid:
* 1 in 4 women will suffer some form of domestic violence in their lifetime
* Ever minute an incident is reported to the police
* 2 women a week are killed by partners or former partners.
* On average it will take 35 assaults before someone  goes to the police.


It takes courage to end the silence. But until you do it wont stop.
